How I Found Kev
After running into a lot of what felt like scams or self-proclaimed gurus driving their Lamborghini to the marina to hop on their yacht, I came across Kev, and he put off a different vibe right away. He posts a daily watchlist, but he also shows and reviews his own setups and actual trades — for free. He doesn't just post the wins. He talks through the losses too. I figured a 7-day free trial was low-risk, so I signed up to see for myself.
Is Trade Momentum Legit?
Short answer: yes. Trade Momentum (trademomentum.org) is a real, active trading community run by a trader who goes by Kev — you may have seen him as @KEV on social media. If you came across a clip or a watchlist post and want to verify it before trusting it, here's what actually checks out:
- He streams live, Monday–Friday 9:00–11:00 AM ET — not just edited highlight reels after the fact.
- He shows losing trades, not just winners — the daily watchlist gets reviewed afterward regardless of outcome.
- The whole funnel starts with a 7-day free trial before any payment — no pressure into an expensive course up front.
- Community access runs through Whop, the same platform a lot of established trading educators use for billing and community tools — not an off-brand payment processor.
None of that guarantees trading results — nothing legitimately can — but it's the difference between a real, transparent educator and the Lambo-and-yacht crowd I describe below.
Why I Waited Before Risking Money
I was hooked from the first day of watching his trading stream in real time, but I didn't put a single dollar on the line for several days. I wanted to get used to his style, his preferred setups, and his terminology first. Kev reminds newcomers every day not to trade on day one — and every day, some people do it anyway, then come back complaining they lost money or didn't understand what happened.
I spent that time getting my Webull setup configured so I could follow along closely, watching recordings of past sessions, and learning the basics of risk/reward and position sizing — all of which is available free inside his Whop community. If you're new and reading this: start with his "Start Here" onboarding and complete the Intro Course & Setup, How to Use Momentum, and Learning Trading Basics modules before you risk a dollar. All of that is included in the free trial.
What Actually Worked
Once I felt ready, I started following Kev's Momentum strategy directly, and it worked. When I started drifting from the rules — chasing trades, revenge trading, FOMO, not honoring my mental stop-loss — I lost money. Every time I went back to actually following his teachings instead of my own impulses, I started making money again. That pattern held up enough times that I stopped treating it as a coincidence.
Free Trial → Monthly → Bootcamp
I'll admit it — I cringed at the initial $147/month price tag (or $108.33/month if you pay $1,300 for the full year) for what I assumed was just watching someone trade stocks with chat-room access thrown in. Who in their right mind pays that much for that? But I knew I needed to start learning somewhere, and the 7-day free trial was enough to convince me to give it a shot.
After the trial, I paid for a month — and the cringe was gone. I started seeing it as tuition, not a subscription: an investment in my own future. Pay the tuition, or pay the price of trading without the knowledge to back it up. That's not trading, that's gambling.
After about a week of that, I decided I wanted more and signed up for the Bootcamp. I probably wouldn't have committed to the Bootcamp cold — not because of anything about Kev, but because trust takes time to build given how much junk is out there, with no shortage of so-called gurus to wade through. The free trial is what got me to that point.
The Bootcamp isn't cheap. It runs live Tuesday and Thursday evenings, 7–8:30 PM CT, and it feels like an intensive college-level class — I think the price reflects that. I felt like I'm getting my money's worth, not just paying for access to a Discord. At the time I enrolled, it also included a full year of community access on Whop: live streaming, chat rooms, and tools like a position-size calculator, a trading journal, an AI assistant, a scanner, a news feed, watchlists, and alerts.
A Concrete Takeaway: The "A+ Setup" Checklist
One example of what's actually stuck with me from the Bootcamp: before I size into anything, I run it through Kev's "A+ Setup" checklist. It's not a guarantee — nothing is — but it's a fast, repeatable filter that stops me from sizing in just because a chart "looks exciting." If a stock can't check most or all of these boxes, I downgrade my conviction or pass entirely.
- Price Above VWAP
- 9 EMA Above 20 EMA
- ≤ 20 Million Share Float
- Clean Price Action
- Range on Daily Chart
Bottom Line
If you're looking for a get-rich-quick scheme, this isn't it. Like anything worth doing, you get out of it what you put in. I put in the time, followed the rules when I remembered to, and it's paid off. I'd highly recommend starting with the free trial and the onboarding modules before deciding anything else.
