Affiliate Disclosure
How affiliate and referral relationships work on this site — what I earn, what I don't, and why it never changes what I recommend.
Last updated: June 2026
The Short Version
Some links on BullishTools.com are affiliate or referral links. If you click one and make a purchase or sign up, I may earn a commission or referral credit — at no extra cost to you. I only link to things I actually use or have genuinely evaluated. An affiliate relationship has never caused me to recommend something I wouldn't otherwise recommend, and it never will.
What an Affiliate Link Is
An affiliate link is a regular web link with a tracking code attached to it. When you click it and complete a purchase or sign-up, the seller knows the referral came from this site and credits me with a commission. The price you pay is the same either way — the commission comes out of the seller's side, not yours.
Not every outbound link on this site is an affiliate link. Many links go to external resources, documentation, or references with no financial relationship attached at all. Where affiliate links are present, they're disclosed on the page where they appear and marked with rel="sponsored" in the HTML for full transparency.
Types of Relationships on This Site
Standard Affiliate Commissions
These are traditional affiliate programs where I earn a percentage of a sale or a flat fee for a referred signup:
- Amazon. Hardware, gear, and desk items on the Trading Workstation page and throughout the site. I'm enrolled in the Amazon Associates program. My tag is
bullishtoolstrading-20. - Finviz. If you subscribe to Finviz Elite through my link on the Finviz page, I earn a commission. I use Finviz Elite myself, daily, for the exact workflow described on that page.
- Brokers. Several brokers on the Broker Comparison page have referral programs. Where a referral link exists, it's labeled on that page. Where no program exists, the link is not an affiliate link.
- Trade Momentum (Kev's Bootcamp). My review of Trade Momentum includes a Whop affiliate link. I'm currently enrolled in the bootcamp myself, as described in the review.
Referral Credits (Not Cash)
Some relationships work differently — I receive a discount or credit rather than a cash payout:
- TradingView. If someone signs up through my referral link on the TradingView page and subscribes to a paid plan within 3 months, I receive a $15 discount code toward my own TradingView subscription. This is not a cash commission — it's a referral credit, which I disclose directly on that page.
Mutual Referral Programs
Some programs give both sides a benefit:
- Oats Overnight. If you use my referral link on the Trading Workstation page, you get $20 off your first order plus a free shaker bottle and free shipping. I also receive a $20 credit. I use the product myself — my preferred flavor is Green Apple Cinnamon, which is mentioned on that page.
What This Doesn't Change
My credibility is built on being straight with you — that's the whole point of the "Developed by a Developer" positioning. I'm not a guru and I'm not trying to become one. The moment I start recommending things I don't use or believe in, this site stops being useful, and I'm not willing to trade that for a commission.
Practically, this means:
- If a product has a meaningful downside, I say so — including in the same section where the affiliate link appears. The Finviz trial auto-renewal, the TradeZero Mac limitation, and the thinkorswim vs. beginner-friendliness tradeoffs are all disclosed directly on the relevant pages.
- If I can't find an affiliate program for something I genuinely recommend, I still recommend it — the Spectrum internet section on the workstation page is an example of this.
- There are no sponsored posts, paid placements, or pay-to-feature arrangements on this site. Nobody pays to appear in the broker comparison table or get a positive mention in a review.
No Ads
BullishTools.com does not run display advertising. There are no ad networks, no programmatic ads, and no sponsored banners. The only revenue model on this site is affiliate and referral commissions from products I actually use and recommend. I prefer it that way — it keeps the content clean and the incentives aligned with you, not with an advertiser.
FTC Compliance
This disclosure is made in accordance with the FTC's guidelines on endorsements and testimonials. Individual pages containing affiliate links also include a disclosure notice near those links. If you ever have a question about whether a specific link is an affiliate link, feel free to ask me directly.
Changes to This Disclosure
Affiliate relationships may be added or removed over time as the site grows. The version posted here is always the current one — the date at the top will be updated whenever something material changes.
