Top Stock Gainers
The Daily Runners Archive
The market's single biggest gainer, logged every day with the numbers that actually happened and the real reason behind the move. Sort it, filter by why it ran, or search a ticker you remember to see if it is a previous runner.
Last updated August 26, 2026
Every trading day, one stock tops the leaderboard for percent gained. I log it here with the open, close, high, low, volume, float, and market cap, then tag why it moved so you can filter the whole archive by reason. The gain is measured close to prior close, the way the top-gainer lists you see everywhere calculate it.
One honest note that matters: a headline percent can lie. On a reverse-split day a stock can show a triple-digit gain that mostly reflects the split, not real buying. When that happens I flag it and put the split-adjusted picture in the notes. Numbers are the regular session; any after-hours continuation goes in the notes too. This is a record for learning patterns, not a buy list, and nothing here is financial advice.

Catalyst Announced a record customer count for the first half of 2026: 550 customers as of June 30, up 17.8% from 467 at year end 2025, with Hong Kong exchange IPO filing submissions up from 11 to 64. Operating information only, with no revenue or earnings figures in the release. Not a first-time runner, and that is the story. CRE traded 24,226,368 shares on 2026-03-06, 15,368,384 on 2026-05-04 (+52% close, +101% intraday) and 22,910,131 on 2026-06-16 (+96% intraday, closed +4%), all post-split, against a 52-week range of $1.68 to $14.64. Today was the fourth big move since March on the same float. 65,248,721 shares traded against a 1,102,735 free float, about 59 float rotations, versus a 20-session average of 66,692 shares and 4,245 shares the prior day. Gapped open +137% at $6.09 after a premarket high of $8.2497 at 7:55am ET, made the day high of $8.60 at 10:25am, then held a $5.85-$6.97 range from 11:00am on declining volume and closed $6.81 on a push in the final half hour: 21% off the high but 12% above its own open. It was a hold through the afternoon, not a bleed. Ended the after hours session at $6.14 (-10%) and traded below $5.80 overnight. The 1.10M float traces to a 1-for-12 reverse split effective 2026-02-13, which cut roughly 19.67M Class A shares to about 1.64M to satisfy Nasdaq's $1.00 minimum bid price requirement; today's percentage is NOT split distorted. No offering, ATM, shelf takedown or ratio change on file in the trailing 30 days. |

Catalyst No dated catalyst. Nothing filed with the SEC since a 2026-08-07 6-K disclosing a Nasdaq notice that the market value of publicly held shares had fallen below the $15,000,000 minimum, and no press release after 2026-08-20. The real high was $2.68 at 6:15 AM ET in premarket, +486%; the regular session never traded above $1.73 and closed 51% below the premarket top. The regular session was a net down day, opening $1.46 and closing $1.31. 251.3M shares traded against a 672,638 float, about 374 float rotations. Webull reports free float equal to shares outstanding, so 672,638 is at minimum a hard upper bound; stockanalysis.com showed 920.59K, which would still be ~273 rotations. The 2026-08-20 press release announced an ADS ratio change from 1:60 to 1:420 ordinary shares, the same effect as a 1-for-7 reverse ADS split, effective on or about 2026-09-08, and it is the second of 2026 after a 1-for-20 effective 2026-05-11. Today's percentage is NOT split-distorted; the split has not happened. After hours ranged $1.15 to $1.59 and closed the session at $1.19, down 9%, at 19:59:59 ET. |

Catalyst No catalyst found. Nothing was filed with the SEC after 2026-08-18 and no press release is dated after 2026-08-14; the move ran on a 692,761-share free float that turned over about 112 times. Closed 45% off the $3.13 high, which printed at 2:00 PM ET inside regular hours (premarket topped $1.15, after hours $1.88, overnight traded 3 shares). Context on file but unrelated to the day: an 8-K filed 2026-08-18 disclosed two Nasdaq delisting determinations and a $1,057,417.37 notice of default on a senior secured convertible note; a preferred-stock financing of up to $6.0M was terminated by the lead investor on 2026-07-27; Cohen & Company was engaged 2026-06-03 to evaluate alternatives including liquidation and dissolution. A 1-for-25 reverse split was effective 2026-05-29, so the 52-week high of $127.25 is split-adjusted; today's percentage is NOT split-distorted. |

Catalyst Shareholders approved RF Acquisition Corp II's business combination with Nanyang Biologics at an August 19 extraordinary general meeting, a roughly $1.5 billion deal expected to list on Nasdaq as NYB. The regular session was the aftermath, not the event. RFAI closed Thursday 8/20 at $12.73; the 8-K confirming the Nanyang Biologics merger vote landed that evening and the stock printed $140.52 in Thursday's after-hours session at 5:51pm ET, up about 1,004% from the close (Webull M1; TradingView labels the top $150.00 - a 6.7% provider disagreement). It traded near $87 overnight, popped again to $113.69 at 4:00am, then collapsed to $23.24 before the open. Friday opened $40.00, low $35.22 at 12:10, high $73.00 at 15:40 - exactly where Thursday's after-hours session had stopped - closed $58.00, and finished after hours at $40.34, back at the open and -30% from the close. Peak to that print is -71%. The +356% is measured against a Thursday close that was obsolete within minutes of the bell. Mechanism: about 3.96M shares tendered for redemption ahead of the August 19 vote left a free float of 5,468,765 (shares outstanding 8,343,765); a separate 2025 redemption had already removed 6,668,735 shares at about $10.73, leaving $53,530,961 in trust as of 6/30/26. Read directly from the July 13 F-4/A: the exchange ratio is the quotient of $1,500,000,000 by $10.00, up to 158,940,640 PubCo shares are issued, and RFAC public shareholders end up with 5,406,265 shares (4%) absent further redemptions, as little as 575,000 (1%) at maximum redemption. |

Catalyst No dated news on the day. Six days earlier, on August 14, Jianzhi filed a 6-K disclosing a registered direct offering of 12,000,000 ADSs at $0.45 for about $5.4M gross, taking ADSs outstanding from 2,408,313 to 14,408,313. Spike and fade. The $5.46 high (+221%) printed about fifteen minutes after the open; the $2.023 low came at 12:40 PM ET; it closed $3.32 (+95%), 39% off the high, then fell another 33% after hours to $2.211. Peak to trough was 63%. Volume of 40.6M was roughly 378x the 20-day average near 107K and about 2.8x the entire post-offering ADS count. A 1-for-50 ADS ratio change took effect July 6, 2026, which is why the 52-week high reads $98.40. Float not verifiable as of the runner date given the offering had just closed. |
